How to get an ITIN if you do not have one

If you do not have an ITIN yet, here is how to get one:

  1. Fill out IRS Form W-7 — available at irs.gov in English and Spanish
  2. Attach a federal tax return — the W-7 is typically submitted with your annual tax filing
