What is an SR-22, and who files it?
An SR-22 is a certificate, not a kind of insurance. Your insurance company files it with the California DMV to show that you carry an auto liability policy. You buy the policy, and the company sends the certificate.
The DMV or the court tells you whether you need one and for how long. Go by the letter or order you received, because the requirement is set case by case. If you are unsure what your paperwork says, read it to us over the phone and a licensed agent will explain it.
Which office is nearest to me in the East Bay?
This page covers drivers in Antioch, Concord, Hayward, Richmond and Vallejo. Vallejo is in Solano County, across the Carquinez Strait from Contra Costa County; we include it on this page. We do not have an office in any of those cities. The East Bay sits between our three offices, so the nearest one depends on where you start.
