DMV Registration Help in the Central ValleyWhat needs the DMV and what does not
Sort your task first: license matters go to the DMV, and registration work can often go through our Stockton office. Here is what to bring and how far the drive is.
Stockton office: Mon–Fri 10am–6pm
Do I need a DMV field office, or can a registration service handle it?
Via Rapida Services is a private vehicle registration service. We are not the DMV and are not affiliated with any government agency. It depends on the task. Anything about your driver license belongs to the DMV. Vehicle registration work can often be done through a registration service such as our Stockton office.
| What you need | Where it is handled |
|---|---|
| Driver license, REAL ID, written or driving test | The DMV only. Book at dmv.ca.gov |
| Registration renewal | The DMV online, by mail or at a kiosk, or our Stockton office |
| Replacement sticker or registration card | The DMV, or our Stockton office |
| Registration held up because insurance lapsed | Call us about the insurance first, then renew |
This table describes how our own service is set up. For anything outside it, the DMV is the authority.

Which documents should I have with me?
- Your current registration card or the renewal notice.
- Proof of insurance for the vehicle.
- A smog certificate, if your renewal notice says one is required.
- Photo identification.
Ask for the total before we start. Registration fees are set by the state and differ from vehicle to vehicle.
Can I take care of insurance in the same visit?
Yes. We are an insurance brokerage first, so registration and an auto policy can be handled together. Carriers may offer coverage depending on underwriting, and the agent shows you each quote before you decide.
